The goal of this design was to present information that would be most useful to a student and/or faculty member and garner interest. Dates and Deadlines, recent faculty books, and prospective students for example are all tools placed in strategic positions on the screen to elicit a particular response.
Information is presented in the menu bar in generalities with more specific navigation found in their corresponding drop-down menus.
The header of this page is part of a unified web presence project in which the university has requested that all sites conform to a similar style as the rest of the school to promote uniformity. The navigation and social links are George Washington University specific.
The header follows a user from page to page and to subpages making finding the right navigation much more simple and efficient.
The events listed in the Dates and Deadlines section in the upper left portion of the display is dynamically linked to the unified university web calendar which automatically generates events on the front page of the site when they are input into the university wide calendar system.
The simple color scheme was designed to not only conform with university guidelines but also to focus attention on content rather on the surroundings
