The Center for Intercultural Education and Development needed a complete website overhaul. The old site was a mish-mash of odd color schemes, static images and .gifs that reminded you of AOL. The design was created with collaboration with the director and staff of the department.
The Center was looking for something that had an academic look and feel as well as being "clean". The result was a nice conglomeration of a simple white, blue, and gold color scheme coupled with a very easy to use and user friendly layout. At first glance it may seem as if there is a lot of content, however, all is relevant to the projects and sub-departments for the CIED. It was a very easy design that was created in Fireworks and built using CSS and HTML4.
This site was designed around the information that was the most important for the Center as well as its visitors. When we began we had wanted to look at their analytics to see if we could come up with a solid demographic and audience list but there were no analytics to be found. Instead, we implemented Google Analytics onto the old site and made a window of 30 days to capture information. We would have preferred more time but the new site needed to be operational by a deadline so unfortunately that was all the time that could be spared.
It turned out to be more than enough time and we were able to deliver a product that the client as well as the intended audience was happy with.
